About UPIS

We are a team of paranormal investigators based in Arizona that is dedicated to the research and investigation of hauntings and paranormal phenomena, to the collection of data related to these events, and to the sharing of information and education. We are not "Ghostbusters", and we do not get rid of ghosts. Indeed, there is currently no way known to eliminate a ghost in any real sense even if we wanted to (forget Hollywood). We are not scientists, nor do we claim to be definitive experts or absolute authorities in this field. It's a fact that, with so little yet concretely understood in this wide open, fledgling territory, and with any standardized training from academic institutions virtually non-existent, there is no such thing as an expert or authority in this field (anyone claiming any such a title would have to, in our view, be labeled a charlatan). We are, however, highly experienced and thoroughly educated about what we do. We conduct serious, rigorous study and research into all of our investigations from this point of view.

We are normal, everyday people from various backgrounds who have a passion for delving into and exploring the supernatural. Because these unexplained events most often occur in the field, rather than in a laboratory or other controlled environment, we make use of audio, video, and other technical equipment to help us detect these phenomena. Our research is based in science and the scientific method. We do not use Ouija boards, séances, psychics, divining rods, or any other non-scientific techniques to conjure, summon, or similarly locate spirits.

We believe that skepticism is healthy, that is, that all other reasonable explanations should be ruled out prior to declaring an experience to be paranormal in nature. That said, there are many situations out there that are paranormal, a haunting being just one of them. Paranormal, therefore, is not synonymous with the word haunting. By definition, paranormal simply refers to something that is beyond what we as humans can fully understand or explain; something that is above the normal experiences that we encounter in everyday life. Haunting is a word we use much more exclusively. We will not declare a haunting to be taking place until we have seen sufficient evidence to do so, and have fully ruled out all other possibilities.

Privacy is our #1 priority when we investigate private residences or businesses. No personal details will be revealed without your permission, nor do we charge for any of our services.
